The
precious memories of the beautiful gifts of kindness and compassion
shared with my beloved husband, Timothy Girsch, have given me hope
and peace. I will never be able to thank enough Barbara and Beth
and the St. Vincent Hospital hospice team, but please know you are
in my heart always. And, I know, they will always remember Tim.
Tim Girsch, the veterinarian, the physicist, the king of humor,
and the man who loved every one and every thing. Tim loved life
and he fought to hold on to every moment with grace and dignity.
Tim is my husband and my very best friend. He has always been my
strength, he has always been my hero because he personified quiet
courage and conviction. Tim taught me to look at the good that existed,
not the bad. But I have so much more to learn, sweetheart! His legacy
to me and to all of us who were fortunate to call him friend, is
to live our lives with kindness and honesty. Tim very much admired
the genius as well as the gentleness of Albert Einstein. These words
were Einstein's, but they come from the heart and soul of Tim Girsch:
"The ideals that have lighted my way, and time after time have
given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness,
Beauty and Truth."
