Memorial Day Campaign

As Memorial Day approaches, many of us will remember a loved one who is dearly missed.  For some of us, a cherished family member will come to mind.  For others, a dear friend will have touched our life.  We invite you to Celebrate Life by making a contribution to the Oregon Hospice Association in honor of someone you admire or in memory of someone you miss.  Your contribution will help us meet the needs of Oregon’s hospice patients and their families.

Your contribution can be a gift to someone special.  We will send a card to let them know you are thinking of them and their loved one at this special time.  If you send us a photo and a brief message about your friend or loved one, we’ll display it on the Memorial Day Tribute Page. Photos and memorial information may also be e-mailed to mccauley@oregonhospice.org.

The Oregon Hospice Association is a charitable public benefit organization that makes sure that every Oregonian can get the care they want at the end of life.  Thank you for your support.

Portland Marathon

Since 1996, the Oregon Hospice Association has been an official charity of the Portland Marathon. Those who sign up for any Portland Marathon event can choose to make a donation to the Oregon Hospice Association or raise money for OHA as part of their marathon efforts. This is a wonderful vehicle for Hospice awareness and Hospice support. On October 4, 2009, the Oregon Hospice Association Marathon Team put their sneakers to the streets at the 38th annual Portland Marathon and helped us raise over $15,000!

In addition to collecting pledges to benefit hospice and palliative care in Oregon, our Team walked and ran in honor and memory of friends and loved ones.  Our Team wore specially-designed commemorative T-shirts, listing the names of these people on the front and back of the T-shirt.

Over $300,000 has been raised for Hospice at the Portland Marathon the last 14 years.  Thanks to long-time marathoner and Hospice benefactor Bernie Reed (pictured with OHA Resource Development Director Meg McCauley in 1998), the Oregon Hospice Association has continued its relationship with the Portland Marathon. Sadly, Bernie died in July 2000. His name is proudly displayed on the commemorative marathon t-shirt.

If you're interested in supporting Hospice at the Portland Marathon, sign up to participate! Go to www.portlandmarathon.org to register for an event.  Make a donation to the Oregon Hospice Association or create a Hospice fundraising page at active.com/donate/oha10. You don’t even have to participate in a Portland Marathon event to raise money for Hospice! For more information or questions, e-mail us at:info@oregonhospice.org.

Your gift will Light Up a Life

Celebrate life at this special time of the year.

Dedicate your light in honor of someone you admire or in memory of someone you miss.  Your contribution of $15 or more to the Oregon Hospice Association will work throughout the year helping Oregon’s hospice patients live their last days in comfort and dignity, surrounded by the people and things they love.

A meaningful gift, your contribution will help you celebrate the life of loved ones during the holiday season and help us continue to promote and ensure high quality end of life care for all Oregonians.  A holiday card will be sent acknowledging your gift.

Brighten the season with a gift of light!
